The American Idolater

It’s weird how much the Dialidol predicted American Idol results can change as the night goes on. I checked an hour or two after the show ended on the east coast, and Dialidol had Brandon Rogers in last place, followed by Blake.

Now that I check after the west coast has voted, it looks pretty different. Brandon is all the way up in fifth place, and Stephanie Edwards is in last place. It would be a real shame to see Stephanie go, since she’s definitely in the top half of the performers left.

Just above Steph is Chris Sligh. I don’t know why my fingers automatically type Chris Slight whenever I try to type his name. His performance last night wasn’t very good, and a lot of people feel that he’s getting overly cocky, but he still doesn’t deserve to go home already. It would be a pretty shocking result if Sligh got voted off this week, not even making the top 10. If I had to choose between Chris and Stephanie, I’m not sure who I’d pick, though.

Third from the bottom is Blake Lewis. Come on people, these are some crappy results. Blake really stunk the place up last night, but he’s definitely one of the better singers in the competition, and pretty much the only one who even tries to do something unique. He puts his own touch on songs, which nobody else really does. Last night it fell flat, but he should definitely stick around.

Fourth from the bottom is Haley Scarnato. She definitely deserves to be sent home after last night’s performance — and, to be honest, based on all her other performances also. I’m surprised that Dialidol has it as close as it does. There’s very little difference in the results between these bottom four, so it’s really more like they’re all tied for last place.

Interestingly, if you look at the actual busy percentages (instead of the “Dialidol score”), Brandon is still in last place.

And, weirder enough, Sanjaya Malakar is in third either way. That’s so bizarre. If he makes it much farther, this whole season will become a big joke. He must have someone voting for him besides his family and the Vote For the Worst crowd, which is pretty scary.
