Making Fun of the Retarded on American Idol
What the hell was that? While I admit I laughed my ass off, it just seems wrong to be putting mentally challenged people up on stage like that for all of America to laugh at. Sure, Ryan Seacrest pretended that this Michael Buble guy was his “friend,” but I still felt bad about laughing at a retarded person making horrible sounds on the stage, desperately trying to make it all the way through a song.
I know it must have been a challenge for him, what with his speech impediment and motor skill issues, and I’m sure Michael Buble must be very proud of himself for lumbering through a complete song, but that doesn’t mean I have to sit on my couch and watch it. At least, not without laughing hysterically whenever he made any sounds at all.
Wow, this guy makes Sanjaya seem like the greatest singer in the world. And that’s saying something.
Oh, and then Gina Glocksen got voted off. Sorry, Gina. You were better than that, you should have stuck around longer (at least longer than Haley Scarnato if nothing else).
DialIdol was sure off tonight, huh? Phil in the bottom 3, not second from the top as DI said? Lakisha in the top 3, not second from the bottom? Jordin in the top 3, not in the bottom 4? They were just all over the place.
But they did say that Gina had the least busy phone line, so that’s something. But this week seems to be the most “off” they’ve been so far. Wonder what’s up with that.
But mostly I just remember that speech impediment guy standing in for Tony Bennett and painfully making his way through the whole song. Yikes. Wow. I can’t get over how bad that was.
